It begins by looking at how brokers have struggled to access real time pricing but with the development of improved IT such as, real time quote applications; they can have the chance to remain competitive. However some doubts are raised over the reliance of electronic data interchange (EDI) and how it can be seen as unsustainable, restrictive on rates and overly expensive.
Kevin, along with other knowledgeable individuals in the industry, then highlights a broker’s areas for growth and the challenges they may face. He provides some insight into the use of SEO to drive cost effective business and consequently be less reliant on comparison websites. As there is fierce competition for common search terms like ‘car insurance’, “the simple answer is to focus on what they do best, using SEO strategy to target niches”.
