Senior SEO Account Manager

Digital marketing innovators Gravytrain are looking for a Senior Account Manager to take ownership across all elements of national and international SEO. 

This engaging role is content focused but also has a technical emphasis. You will be responsible for the management and the day-to-day workload of one direct reportMany of the industries Gravytrain is involved with are quite disruptive and we are eager to work with someone who gets a kick out of exploring new angles and revolutionising the SEO footprint of our clients.

Your main activities will be managing SEO content, execution of technical audits, content audits, conducting comprehensive keyword research based on big data (via Gravytrain’s own in-house-built tool), and drafting business cases. You must also assure communication with your client base is in excellent shape.

Main Activities

Working with Clients

  • Provide excellent account management for a variety of clients/ industries, (e.g. Fin Tech, E-Commerce, Insurance, Travel)
  • Provide guidance on content SEO best practice and content performance metrics
  • Overseeing and managing the production of SEO optimised content pieces in various formats & languages
  • Provide SEO research and analysis based on industry best practice
  • Ensure KPIs of digital campaigns are clarified, confirmed, aligned with client needs and are communicated within the digital team

Organisational Skills

  • Schedule and prioritise the day-to-day workload of one SEO Executive
  • Chair and/or take part in daily/weekly planning meetings
  • Ensure the timely delivery of projects & tasks or potential delays are clearly communicated internally and externally

Inter-Department Teamwork

  • Support Business Development with new client pitches by providing client-focused solutions and/or drafting business cases
  • Instruct other SEO team members on best practices

Skills & Capabilities

The ideal candidate must have commercial experience in the following skills or have relevant transferable skills:

  • 4+ years’ experience in a performance driven SEO role
  • Proven Account Management experience
  • Solid technical SEO experience (e.g. redirection plans/migration support, canonicalisation)
  • A passion in building and maintaining meaningful business relationships
  • Experience managing a small team & multiple (international) freelance resources
  • Advanced understanding of, and qualifications in, industry-recognised SEO tools
  • Experience with Google Search Console (Webmaster Tools)
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Experience in analysing link data & evaluating/conducting outreach activities
  • Working knowledge of other web analytics/SEO tools (such as MOZ, SEM Rush)
  • Experienced in conducting technical site audits & putting those into actions
  • Knowledge of SEO and content marketing best practices and a keen interest in SEO trends
  • Highly numerate and commercially minded, with understanding of statistical analysis
  • An understanding of search engines and of all aspects of on-site and off-site SEO
  • Excellent reporting skills & KPI driven approach
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
