SEO Manager

In your role as SEO Manager at Gravytrain, you’ll be providing ongoing up-to-date on- and off-page SEO services and recommendations to a range of clients across multiple industries and language/ country markets, as well as assuring SEO standards are met within the business at all times.

You’ll be expected to advise on SEO best practice; the right person will draw on previous experience to make realistic and commercially viable recommendations to clients to achieve their goals and bring an exceptionally high level of understanding of the current industry trends to the business. It is important for the person in this role to be organisedand having excellent personal time management.

Main Activities

Below is a non-exhaustive list of day-to-day activities that are involved in this role

  • Taking part in daily/weekly internal and client meetings
  • Estimating and evaluating tasks
  • Executing and advising SEO Executive(s) and other members of the SEO team on best practice
  • Conducting business relevant SEO research and analysis based around industry best practices
  • Producing meaningful reports, recommendations and analysis for clients
  • Strategic planning and implementation of (also if applicable, local, regional and international) SEO strategies
  • Assigning of and reporting on SEO KPIs
  • Utilising tracking measures/ attribution models in order to track progress and establish opportunities
  • Assuring SEO conformity of projects and highlighting risks and potential for improvements to the HoD/ SEO Strategist.
  • Conducting SEO audits (on-page and off-page) and drawing suggestions for campaign improvements
  • Working closely with other members of the team to provide tailored and target focused SEO solutions, based on client and industry needs
  • Communicate solutions effectively to managers and other members of the team
  • Follow instructions and recommendations made by the rest of the SEO team or managers
  • Iterate and improve on existing research and tools to industry best practices
  • Effective documentation of workload and ownership of your own list of tasks
  • Pro-active support of new Business Opportunities

Skills & Capabilities

The ideal candidate must have commercial experience in the following skills or have relevant transferable skills

  • 2+ Years SEO Experience with proven success record
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Highly numerate, with strong understanding of statistical and arithmetic analysis
  • Advanced experience with Google Analytics and in tracking SEO performance
  • Experience with Search Crawl & Log Analysis
  • Experience with Google & Bing Search Console (Webmaster Tools)
  • Experience of Google Tag Manager
  • Strong understanding of and achieving SEO specific KPIs
  • Keyword Analysis and Content Planning
  • Use of Industry Specific Tools and Platforms
  • Detailed oriented work ethic
  • Thrive in a team environment
  • Microsoft Office (minimum: Word, Excel & Outlook)

Additional skills that are beneficial to this role include:

  • Understanding of PPC
  • Understanding of HTML and/or JavaScript
  • Experience delivering SEO one or more of these industries:
    • Ecommerce (Fashion, Health & Beauty, Furniture)
    • Insurance or Financial Services
    • Education, Charity or Government
