Celebrating Women in Digital on International Women’s Day

Today (March 8th) marks International Women’s Day – a day that has highlighted women’s rights and the importance of gender equality for decades. International Women’s Day not only celebrates the fantastic work of women across the world but also reminds people that in certain places women are still not equal and more can be done to ensure gender equality worldwide.

Here in the UK women are protected by laws that ensure we have the same rights as everyone else. However, there is still a way to go, especially when it comes to women in tech. This is why this International Women’s Day we would like to celebrate the women at Gravytrain and their contribution to the digital industry.

When it comes to marketing, women make up a large percentage of the workforce, however when it comes to tech men tend to make up these roles. As digital marketing is a blend between marketing and technology, it’s the perfect opportunity for both men and women to learn new skills such as creativity and coding in an equal setting.

Here at Gravytrain we’re proud to say that we have women who work in SEO, PR, Graphic Design and Finance – there is no one-type-fits-all role here and we encourage everyone to follow their passion and do what they love. This is why we also give male members of staff the same opportunity to take part in either creative or technical projects.

We are firm believers in gender equality here at Gravytrain and are therefore happy to support International Women’s Day. To find out more about the international event and how you can get involved visit their website here.
